Operations Manager.
About Us.
Exalt Printing Solutions is a fast-growing commercial printing company based in Carrollton, TX, specializing in high-volume, precision print production for large enterprises & leading direct-to-consumer brands.
The Operations Manager will be the dedicated operational leader to a critical client ensuring that every order is produced on spec, on time, and at the customer’s quality standard. This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role with direct impact on one of our most critical client relationships.
Position Summary.
The Operations Manager is responsible for the full production lifecycle of the program at Exalt: from job intake and production scheduling through press operations, quality control, finishing, and shipping. This role owns the production floor and must be capable of scaling operations from steady-state volumes to peak holiday throughput — managing multiple shifts, onboarding and directing temporary labor, and maintaining zero-defect quality standards under pressure.

The ideal candidate has direct experience in high-volume manufacturing with DTC fulfillment demands, and has personally managed a holiday peak ramp-up — not just observed one. This person will be the primary operational point of contact for the Customer internally and will work closely with leadership to continuously improve throughput, cost efficiency, and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Program Operations
-
Own the day-to-day production schedule for all orders, ensuring job flow is sequenced to meet SLA commitments across all volume levels
-
Serve as the primary internal operational lead for the Customer account — deeply familiar with product specs, quality requirements, packaging standards, and client expectations
-
Maintain real-time visibility into order pipeline, production status, and fulfillment readiness; escalate proactively when throughput or quality is at risk
-
Partner with the account team (client-side) and Exalt leadership to plan capacity in advance of peak periods, new product launches, and promotional spikes
-
Coordinate inventory positioning and material availability to ensure no production delays
Multi-Shift & Workforce Management
-
Directly manage production shift leads and floor associates across all active shifts
-
Design and execute peak season staffing models — including temporary labor sourcing (in coordination with HR/staffing agencies), onboarding workflows, and accelerated skills training
-
Build and maintain shift schedules that optimize throughput against labor cost, overtime obligations, and Texas labor compliance requirements
-
Set clear expectations for floor accountability, enforce quality and safety standards across shifts, and sustain morale during extended high-volume operating periods
Quality Assurance
-
Own the quality control process — from color accuracy and substrate alignment through finished tile inspection and packaging compliance
-
Track and report defect rates, reprint rates, and scrap costs; lead root cause analysis and corrective action on recurring issues
-
Ensure brand standards are upheld consistently, including tile finish, frame fit, adhesive application, and insert packaging
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
-
Establish and report on key production KPIs: units per hour, on-time production rate, first-pass quality yield, cost per unit, and downtime by cause
-
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, and lower cost per tile as volumes scale
-
Maintain equipment uptime in coordination with maintenance resources; escalate repair needs with urgency when production capacity is at risk
-
Provide weekly operational reporting to the COO covering production performance, risk flags, and staffing status
Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Partner tightly with the Warehouse & Shipping Manager to synchronize production output pace with fulfillment capacity — especially during peak
-
Coordinate with Plant Manager to manage shared equipment and floor space without disrupting other client programs
-
Provide capacity forecasting input to support client-facing discussions on volume commitments and SLA terms
Compensation & Benefits
-
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience; this is a senior, client-critical role and will be compensated accordingly
-
Performance bonus tied to Customer on-time production rate, quality yield, and peak season execution
-
Full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision
-
Paid time off and company holidays
Required Qualifications
-
5+ years of operations or production management experience in a high-volume print, on-demand manufacturing, or fulfillment environment
-
Proven, hands-on experience managing a holiday or peak-season production ramp-up — including temporary labor management, throughput scaling, and quality maintenance under surge conditions
-
Experience managing multi-shift operations with accountability for labor scheduling, floor discipline, and output targets
-
Fluency in production metrics and KPI reporting; ability to build and present operational dashboards to leadership
-
Strong floor leadership presence — this role requires daily visibility and credibility on the production floor, not a desk-based manager
Preferred Qualifications
-
Familiarity with DTC fulfillment SLAs and the pace expectations that come with consumer-facing order commitments
-
Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement certification or training
-
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
